Last Friday I tried to make the fabric necklace free pattern over on Amy Butler's website. I got so lost with the directions that I sent it to Garrett's sister Lauren, and she couldn't figure it out either. I just decided to omit the pictures and just try and read the words. In doing this it actually kinda worked.
It came out a lot shorter then I hoped for, I wanted to be able to wrap it around my big ol' head at least twice, but that was a bust. While I was making it I thought gee I'm wasting a lot of fabric, and then I was thinking I was supposed to cut two strips out of both and not just one. I will try this next time. I wore it to school the next day and all the kids loved it and the teachers did too! Yes it's Amy Butler fabric as well as some MODA. I like it.
Here is a picture of me rocking it:
It looks a lot better when its not on an old stained work shirt!
Its time to start working on homemade Christmas, I have a lot of ideas I just need to put them in motion! I hope you like it! I can't wait to see all the other Friday finishes over at Amy's blog
Peace & Love J-me

Sweet. You did it all by yourself! Yeah Jaimie. I'll be home the 21st, and I will be sure to bring my completed Handmade Christmas gifts :)
this is very cool!! i love the fabric you chose.
Pretty cool! I'll have to try this out. :o)
It looks great! Love your fabrics, and I admire you for sticking with it despite the hard-to-follow instructions. I would probably have given up! LoL
It's cute! It looks like a fun project:)
You know what...this means more to me to see someone struggle with a project and try, try and try again until they get it right...than anything else in quilting! You are way awesome for sticking with it when I would have chucked it all (well, not the fabric, which is gorgeous and would have wound up in a quilt! LOL) and calling it quits. Your Friday Finish wins my "Stick To Itness" award!
Congratulations on such a cool Friday Finish and thanks for sharing with us. It really means a lot!
Blessings!
Very cool idea!!! Looks great .... even on a work shirt ;-)) Thanks for sharing.
Super neat! These look great!
Nice job...I looked at that pattern too, but didn't get very far with it!
It's great to read about someone struggling but perservering to the end with a project. I've been tempted to make this necklace too.
I've always thought these necklaces are so cute ! I love the fabrics you chose. And sometimes it's best to disregard the instructions and wing it! At least that's what i tell myself. :)
