Friday Sew-n-tell Purse

So i know that it is almost the end of summer but I finally got my simmer purse done. I was spending all my time on my quilt i almost forgot about the purse. I finished it in one day, yesterday,. because today i am leaving for Canada for a music festival with my boyfriend. So here it is:

It is from a pattern i bought at Joann's when they had there 1 dollar pattern sale
I got the fabric from Keepsake Quilting a while ago and i finally put it to use! I got the button from my stash!

And it is just a sold pink on the inside with one patch pocket. I am wishing that I had put a zipper in but I was on a deadline.

FANDANGO!

So I was looking online for a while at another quilt to do and i found this one. I love the Hexagons! So i needed to find me a jelly roll. So i was looking at some Amy Butler, but wasn't really inspired so i went and looked at Moda next. I fell in LOVE with the Fandago Line, and i had to order it. So i talked to my sister and she ordered it for me for my birthday. It came in the mail the other day and i went to quilting class and i didn't want to take it apart! When i did i fell even more in love with it. I can't wait to get started!

Done, Done Done!!!

Yes it is done! It has been a long while since my last post but that is because I have been a busy bee! I have been working on finishing up my first ever quilt, and I finished it Wednesday. Ever since i have been cuddling up with it waiting for today to share it with all of you.  So instead of blabbing about it I will show you all the pictures:

Cliche Clothesline hanging. This picture does no justice it is much brighter in person! I just makes me smile :]
the back

My initials, the B is a little wonky, but hey that's okay!
A close up of my hand stitching and the binding.

So yes I decided to hand stitch it. I didn't want to jump into machine stitching, it is very intimidating! And I love how the hand stitching turned out. It took a bit longer then i hoped but it makes it that much more special. And the binding I'm impressed on how it came out. I watched a couple videos on you tube and tada! No problem there, i winged it on the corners, but it came out nicely.

So there you have it. I'm now addicted and I want to make more! My next idea is all polka dots! Or hexagons using the Moda Fandango line by Kate Spain. I'm so excited!
