Quilt Blocks finished!!

I finished my quilt blocks tonight and I'm very happy about it. But now i have to cut the sashing and piece together the quilt top. The sashing is a solid black to make all the colors pop, but now what to do about the back, Maybe a black and white print, or a black on blackish print, or just black...what do you guys think?
Oh and im following this quilt along to make this now for the picture!

I decided to add this to Amys sew-n-tell because im at the hopsital today for my grandfathers surgery so I don't have time to complete the top. Although i did get sashing cut and the first row done!

Some cheap wall art

So I know the semester is halfway through....but I still need to spruce up my dorm room. Its kinda plain, and boring. So I saw this and decided I would use the main idea and make something out of it. And this is what I came up with

The lighting is kinda shitty, but the look really good in person. The letters are magnetic, and what they are on are stove   burner covers I got them for cheap at the dollar store, as well as the sticky back magnets too.

So im on spring break now, so at the end of the week they will be heading up with me to school and will find a spot on one of my empty walls. And i just need one more to say Live, don't ya think?

P.S. I'm working really hard on finishing that quilt!

Jewlery Pouch!

So as some of you may know, I have been thinking about becoming a Lia Sephia Advisor this summer. For those of you who don't know Lia Sophia, its a very nice jewlery line. It kind of works like Mary Kay, where people host parties from me and they get to win jewlery. The jewlery is really nice, and I hope those of you who read my blog and are in the area, support me on this goal!

Enough of that lets get to the friday finish right? Well it is realted to my rant, it is a jewlery pouch. I came up with the idea, that i can make these, and mayebe "sell" them along with Lia sophia, or hostesses will get a free one for booking a party, or there could be a raffle and at the end of the party we will see who wins one! Wha do you guys think? Im also thinking of selling them at craft fairs. This is the first one I have made, and its a little small, i think, but my mom thinks its a good size. What do you guys think?

I'm also planing on being a part of my campus' earth jam, where they have a solar powered concert. My plan is to take recycled Juice pounches, like capri sun, and make things out of them to sell for cheap. (yay for boyfriends wokring at a recycling center!!) here's a little coin purse i made, and it fits cards too.

Updates of Life..

I just wanted to share some updates on my life with everyone! I've been pretty busy latley, and people have been asking me what i have been doing and how life is so I will just make a post :)

This weekend is actually going to pretty exciting for me! On Friday at school I have Senior Day Activities. Can you belive I will be graduating from College in MAY????!!!! crazy. So senior day is when we get to win prizes, pick up graduation tickets, caps and gowns, senior pictures. Its kinda crazy I can't belive I have made it, and I'm kinda scared of whats to come after I graduate.

Saturday I'm going to Boston to see MUSE with Garrett!!! I'm really excited for this. Muse has been on our list of bands we really want to see for a while, and now we get the oppertunity to see them! We bought the tickets way back in like october, and it's finaly here!

While at school I decided I should take advantage of all the free gyms and areobics classes here at psu, because it's going to suck to have to pay for a gym membership once I'm done! So the second week in I started this awesome class ZUMBA! have you heard of it? You should really try it! it is so fun, its like a party, you dance, and have fun and burn up to 500-1000 calories in an hr class! its all about moving and getting your heart pumping. The best part is I feel so great after, like i could run a marathon, (haha yeah right i'll leave that to Lauren and Charlie). But i do suggest everyone look into a zumba class.

Lets see....School has been going pretty well. Keeping myself busy with school work and work work, the only days i have off are Sunday and Tuesday from work. But after spring break I won't be working as much.

Mitered Square Blankie for Miranda's C baby boy!

It's been a while since i have posted, I know, over a week!!! Well I have been very busy working on a baby blanket for my friend Miranda, who is expecting a baby boy in 4 weeks! I chose to make her the Mitered Square Baby blanket from the book "One Yard Wonders" (boy do i love that book!) It was a little hard, and time consuming, and i realized it is my first one and it was definitly not going to be perfect!! I ran into a few things, so good thing I bought more then a yard of the fabric! I did manage to make one PERFECT! block shown bellow:

And it came out pretty well i think. She really liked it. I was also going to make her some Binky holders, but i have yest to fins dosme Fusable Vinyal any ideas? or i could jsut suck it up and order some PUL online. But she was very happy to get binkys, because no one gave her any at her shower, which I sadly couldn't attend.

The backing is a baby blue flannel!! its really cozy!!

She also asked me to make her some owl's for her baby boy's room. She wants some kind of fun wall art, or maybe softies to put on a shelf. the bed spread she bought has owls on it and she couldn't find anything to decorate the walls with. So any ideas are welcome!!

I have a lot of scrap and blocks that didn't fit together nicley left over so i plan on making her a few little pillows to go with it.

All this making baby stuff is making me want a baby!! I can't wait to have kids! (well I can a little bit longer, I am only 21)
